Job responsibilities:

Main Purpose

The main purpose of this position is to ensure that assigned projects are executed accurately and timeously.

  • Ensure that all orders meet the company and customers commercial terms and conditions
  • Assist external and internal customers with technical queries

 

Project Management

  • Assist in order hand-over process between Proposals to Projects departments.
  • Compile and submit data packs for each project handled.
  • Continuously keep the customer well-informed of progress and delivery expectations.
  • Continuously update cost calculations through the project to determine accurate margins.
  • Co-ordinate and attend witness testing of project motor orders.
  • Facilitate and assist with project related debtor issues where needed.
  • Interact with the customer in terms of project, kick-off and site meetings.
  • Inter-phasing with customers, COMPANY branches and COMPANY Group business units
  • Liaising with the engineering department of the company’s various supplier organizations to streamline engineering processes.
  • Liaising with the PIPC/Workshop to ensure output of project products on time.
  • Negotiate orders when needed.
  • Placing of technical orders on COMPANY or approved suppliers.
  • Receiving and processing of customer orders in line with the customer’s technical
  • Show the ability to monitor various projects

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)

  • Invoice forecast of Projects, monthly reporting with accuracy of 90%
  • Order placement on COMPANY, within 3 days from handover

Other

  • Continuously improve internal systems and procedures.
  • Monitor engineering developments and new projects within the engineering sector.
  • Monitor motor developments by competitors

 

Specific Requirements/Additional information

  • A legal driver’s licence – Code 8.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, including formal communications and making presentations.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Must have excellent technical skills.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations.
  • A keen sense of urgency and willingness to learn additional work related skills.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well in a team setting.
  • Good telephone manner.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • Predominantly Office based. The position might require out of town travel and out of office errands from time to time.
  • Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.
  • Attends and participates in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession

Job requirements:

  • Matric with minimum N4 certificate.
  • Previous experience (Minimum 5 years) in the field of electrical motor or similar products.
  • Diploma (Electrical or Mechanical) added advantage.
  • Contract Management experience.

Computer literacy – proficient in Microsoft Office software.

  • Syspro Experience.
  • SAP experience will be an added advantage
