Production Manager “Barrel Manufacturing”

Job requirements:

• B-Eng (mechanical or industrial) degree or similar
• Work experience in heavy manufacturing environment preferable
• Self-motivated personality and able to work independently
• Positive and problem-solving mentality
• The ability to work under pressure and multi-tasking
• Willing to work overtime
• Team player
• Quick learner
• Have an interest in trucks and/or heavy transport equipment
• Have an interest and ability in mechanical design
• Have 3-D modelling experience.
• Pro-Engineer/experience will be an advantage
• Able to travel locally and overseas

Job responsibilities:

• Design of manufacturing jigs or equipment
• Engineering and manufacturing drawings
• Obtaining quotations and ordering of materials necessary for production
• Scheduling production of tanker barrels and related equipment
• Management of workforce in the department
• Quality inspections during the manufacturing process and completion of daily quality reports
• Scheduling necessary non-destructive testing as required by manufacturing code
• Providing relevant documentation for data books
• Compiling of quotations
• Liaising with customers
• Keeping abreast of new legislation and ensuring product compliance to applicable design codes and legislation
• Upkeep of Health and Safety regulations
• Supervising overtime production on rotating schedule

Specific Requirements/Additional information

• A market related remuneration package based on experience and qualifications will be negotiated with the successful candidate
• 15 work  days leave
• Position is offered for a 6-month trial period where after permanent employment will be offered based on performance and abilities of the successful candidate
