Nationality:  Namibian and South African Citizens only

Location:  Between Cape Town & Namibia

Start date:  ASAP

Duration:  On going Contract

Rotation: 35 / 35 as this covers Quarantine time

Salary:  Will be discussed in interview

 

Qualifications:

Grade 12 or N3 with Maths and Science

Artisanship (preferably fitter)

Experience:

At least 1 year offshore drilling experience

Completed Company Internal Training (driller)

Seagoing Drillers

Artisanship

Oil & Gas experience

Operator Maintenance of own equipment – Drilling for Diamonds

Must have a Police Clearance

Offshore Medical & Covid test will be done by Client

 

Primary Purpose of Job:

Responsible for mining drilling operations and related activities to ensure optimum utilization of equipment.

Required to perform any task of the same job grade or lower that can reasonably be expected of him/her.

 

Maintenance Effectiveness:

Install all types of trade related equipment required for the safe operation of the drilling process

Identifies spares requirements and confirms the availability of consumables with supervisor complete reports according to departmental procedure

Carries out repairs, corrective and preventative maintenance work on equipment to comply with product technical specification and maintenance requirements

Performs general housekeeping duties

Pulling and running of drill string

Train, guides, informs, and generally counsels in matters of technical knowledge and trade skills, any learner allocated to his team for training purposes

Always optimizes the movement of the drilling string, ensuring maximum production by monitoring geological and heavy weather conditions.

Monitors the progress of the ore extraction and adjusts the drilling parameters to suit seabed conditions by controlling all parameters including bit pressures, rotation spreads, compressed air, and compensation cushion flow.

Effective pulling and running of the drill string by calculating string lengths and optimal discharge heads. Records drill pipe hours to ensure maximum life.
