Maintenance Engineer

Job Function
Lead the planned maintenance program to ensure efficient and continuous operation of equipment

Key Performance Areas:
• Analyze Production / Maintenance data to determine equipment efficiency.
• Spend time in the production plant to monitor machines and processes.
• Conduct tests on machines and report on progress and findings.
• Liaise with production departments on machine improvement requests.
• Interact with production department on machine improvements.
• Ensure that job cards are recorded, issued and completed on time.

• Compile preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and breakdowns reports.

• Responsible for all services, calibration and validation on various machinery and equipment

• Monitor all stock and non-stock items in the maintenance store, including consumables, materials and parts required.

• Liaise with contractors.

• Responsible for contractor management.

• Plan, delegate and coordinate repairs and services of machines.

• Lead shutdown maintenance on all equipment • Ensure legal compliance of equipment where necessary.

Minimum Requirements:
• National Senior Certificate / Grade 12.
• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years relevant postgraduate experience.
• Experience in a production/manufacturing environment is essential.
• Machine maintenance knowledge required.
• Sound finance and budgeting experience

• Computer literate

• Drivers license essential
