Project Supervisor

Responsible for providing guidance, instruction, and directions to the project installation team within the marine industry. Planning and Monitoring of Progress on all jobs.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Supervise a team of 6 or more technicians
• Ensure that time keeping, overtime management, leave and sick leave information is passed on to HR
• Train new and existing employees on all relevant skills and standards when required
• Assistance with surveying, quoting and progress reports as needed.
• Manage quality Assurance
• Measure project team productivity
• Provide daily activity reports
• Complete before and after photographic and written records of work completed
• Setting of work schedules
• Assigning work
• Ensuring that projects are completed on time
• Enforcing policies, procedures and workplace standards are met
• Uphold ethical business practices and adhere to all contractual obligations
• Maintain sound relations with all clients
• Ensure that all equipment and tools are kept safe and in good working condition
• Comply with all relevant site regulations and bylaws as applicable
• Ensure that all company, client and site health and safety procedures are adhered to
• Ensure that team has the correct PPE and that it is used and worn as and when required.
• Report any hazards, incidents or injuries or hazards to management
• Stock – control of stock on site

Education, experience and competencies required:

• A minimum of 3 yrs related experience in a leadership role in the ship building, marine, naval, offshore industry 
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to collect, analyze and use relevant information
• Ability to supervise and motivate a workforce
• Ability to remain focused under pressure
• Must be computer literate and able to work in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Must have a valid South African Driver’s license

We are looking for a mature, responsible individual, who is capable of supervising a team of technicians.  The role is very hands on and the individual will need to be willing to climb in and do manual labour when and where required.  We expect this person to lead by example.
