The Cost Accountant is accountable for the ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities.

The Cost Accountant must also construct and monitor those data accumulation systems needed to provide level of costing information to management

MINIMUM CRITERIA

  • Grade 12 with a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Knowledge of company tax and IFRS
  • Minimum 2 years in similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • MS Excel (min Intermediate level); MCBA / Accpac / Syspro or any similar accounting package
  • An honest individual with integrity, also being deadline driven and detail orientated

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • VAT returns and all aspects of general accounting up to balance sheet
  • Supervision of debtors and creditors
  • Handling of all costing matters (investigate variances, update costing, monitor critical factors, etc)
