Finance Manager
SFG Engineering
Seeking a Finance Manager to be responsible for managing and directing the entire
financial function for multiple companies across multiple regions in the following areas: Management Accounts, Flash & HFM Group Reporting, Forecasting & Budgeting, Cash Management, AFS, Board Packs, Internal & External Audits, Internal Financial Controls, Risk Management, Board Reporting & Representation, IFRS compliance, Financial Models, Procurement & Cost Control, Contracting, Legal & Insurance and Tax Compliance.

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to:
Financial Management
• Responsible for overall financial process adhering to relevant instructions and guidelines
• Month end, interim and year-end financial reporting in line with company guidelines and time frames
• Coordinate and prepare year end estimates and annual budgets in line with company guidelines and time
frames
• Maintain accurate and up to date fixed asset registers
• Keep accurate records of all transactions, using relevant documentation
• Review and sign off all balance sheet reconciliations monthly, including Disbursement Control
• Continuous improvement on all financial processes
• Identify and manage financial risks
Debtors
• Ensure customer payments are collected within the agreed credit terms, allocations of payments and timely
submission of statements to customers
• Ensure completeness of revenue
• Review and approve credit applications in line with LOAs
• Monitor and evaluate customer behaviour and take corrective action where required
• Monitor and report on effectiveness of query resolution in line with agree KPIs
Creditors
• Implement and monitor adherence to creditors policies & procedures
• Ensure creditors and reconciled to statement and paid on time
• Ensure SARS deferments settled timeously
• Interact with internal and external stake holders to resolve complex issues
Project Management
• Preparation of financial models
• Preparation of board notes
• Secure funding for projects
• Post project reviews
• Execute on projects
Leadership and People Management
• Resource the department with adequately qualified and skilled personnel
• Training, development, and motivation of staff
• Performance Management
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching
• Talent Management including succession planning
Ensure Compliance with Relevant Legislation
• Adheres to Tax and Accounting Laws
• Adheres to all other relevant legislation
• Keep and maintain all company documentation
• Ensure that quarterly tax computations are prepared and reviewed; Income tax returns are filed and paid on
time
• Overall ensure that the company is in compliance with Tax requirements (VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Income
Tax, Transfer Pricing)
• Ensure that AFS are completed within 3 months after year end
• Ensure compliance with IFRS
We invite applications from candidates who meet the following minimum criteria:
Qualification:
• CA (SA) or equivalent
• Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles
• Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations
Experience:
• 8 years’ experience working in Finance, including 4 years in a management position.
• Experience in a Logistics and/or Shipping environment will be an advantage
• Knowledge and experience of related computer applications
