DMS Control Room Operator

Job Requirements:

• Grade 10
• 5 years min Mineral Processing Plants experience
• 3 years min Metallurgical production plants experience
• Good work ethic and commitment to safe working
• Strong analytical and fault-finding skills
• Sound computer skills
• Seagoing personnel to have all valid STCW offshore certificates
• Valid seafarer’s medical certificates
• Valid police clearance certificates
• Seaman’s book

Job Responsibilities:

• SHES – Ensure compliance with Group Safety and Security policies, complete Risk Assessments on all activities, ensure compliance with Permits to Work (Hot Work etc)
• Production – Ensures DMS Control Room is operating to the required efficiency and standards
• Routine operation of the SCADA process control system
• Directs PLANT OPERATORS and MINE HELPERS to ensure safe and efficient running of the DMS
• Ensures good housekeeping in the Control room
• Assisting PLANT FOREMAN with trouble shooting investigations on Plant systems, rectifying problems and suggestions for continuous improvement
• Reporting – Manages DMS Log, assist with DMS logs & reports as directed by PLANT FOREMAN
