Recovery Plant Operator

Job Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Mineral Processing plants
• Flow Sort X Ray machines
• Valid Passport
• Valid Police Clearance Certificate
• Valid Seafarers Medical Certificate
• Seamans Book Record
• All STCW course and certificates must be valid

Job Responsibilities:

Job Purpose

• The Recovery Plant Operator is responsible to the PLANT FOREMAN for the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the Recovery Plant and Control Room during their shift.

SHES

• Ensure compliance with Group Safety and Security policies
• Complete Risk Assessments on all activities
• Ensure compliance with Permits to Work (Hot Work etc)

PRODUCTION

• Ensures Recovery Plant is operating to the required efficiency
• Ensures close cooperation with the CHIEF and SENIOR SORTER to optimize final recovery to Sort House
• Ensures close cooperation with Senior Geologist, SSO and Plant Foreman to optimize Recovery Plant flushing schedule (Recovery Tower and Drier)
• Completes X-Ray tracer tests as directed by Plant Foreman
• Ensures routine inspections and planned maintenance is carried out on Flow Sort X-Ray machines and all related equipment
• Ensures good housekeeping in Recovery Control Room and all work areas
• When required assists technical team with equipment maintenance and repairs
• Assisting PLANT FOREMAN with trouble shooting investigations on Plant systems, rectifying problems, and suggestions for continuous improvement

REPORTING

• Manages Recovery shift log sheets
• Manages X-Ray tracer test logs
