Job Requirements:

  • Matric/ Grade 12
  • IICL Trained Health and Safety accident investigator
  • Extensive computer literacy
  • Min 5 years related experience
  • Experience in, and knowledge of container repair and inspection.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a workforce
  • Ability to remain focused under pressure
  • Understanding of HR / IR Procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organisation
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • General physical fitness a requirement.
  • Must be able to travel to and from work during, and outside of, normal working hours.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ordering of materials and consumables for workshop Production: Mechanical and Structural
  • Planning and allocation of jobs
  • Supervise all repairs and ensure that they are Quality checked and signed off
  • Ensuring that all tools and equipment are controlled and fit for purpose
  • Ensure the cleaning and maintenance of the workshop area
  • Ensuring all workshop production per job is profitable
  • Record production and give timeous feedback to management
  • Provide customers an update on repairs
  • Update repair tariffs
  • Stock management of all consumables
  • Ensure that all work is completed to legal, Client & IICL standards
  • Managing the team effectively and set daily targets for repair hours
  • Maintenance of all plant equipment
  • Ensuring that all staff comply with safety requirements, instilling a culture of OSH Act. Conformance, regular Toolbox Talks, recording of incidents and Safety meetings.
