Job Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification supported by 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the electronics industry.
- Relevant technical/ engineering qualification would be advantageous.
- Thorough understanding of; and hands on experience in PC Board’ manufacturing processes.
- Good customer service skills.
- Proven commercial acumen.
- Good prioritizing and time management ability.
- Familiarity with CAM/ Gerber file viewer software to at least intermediary level of competence.
- An understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP).
- Fluency & confidence in English (written, spoken & read).
- High degree of professionalism.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Receive and investigate all engineering queries (EQ) from suppliers.
- Check previous revisions and resolve any discrepancies with the factory before EQ’s are sent to customer.
- Interpret EQs in a manner that is easily understandable to the customer.
- Follow-up EQs with customers.
- Check customer’s response to EQs for completeness before it is sent to the supplier for manufacturing.
- Update technical data sheets and CAM software with all revisions/ changes.
- Assist customers with technical queries and design specifications.
- CAM new part numbers and sends to suppliers for quoting.
- Send Gerber files for new PO to suppliers.
- Check technical information on new purchase orders (PO) against data on technical data sheets before sending it to finance for processing.
- Attend Operations meetings as required and contribute in a meaningful way.
- Maintain a high-level knowledge of customer markets and products.
- Build relationships with key technical ‘customer & supplier staff.
- Participate in customer meetings as required.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure a seamless order and manufacturing
- Continuously review work processes and implement changes to improve efficiency
- and cost effectiveness.
- Assist the TS with projects as required.
- Identify efficiencies and cost savings in work processes.
- Responsive to all business contacts.
- Participate in business improvement initiatives and projects.
