Job requirements:

  • Relevant Draughting Qualification
  • Three to six years’ experience in a relatable engineering environment (eg. design and manufacturing)
  • Sound understanding of 3D CAD packages, in particular SolidWorks
  • Excellent written communicator (email, report & manual writing);
  • Excellent level of English, both written and verbal;
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks PDM, would be advantageous;
  • Sound understanding of fabrication, boiler making/welding, precision machining;
  • Good organizational, planning & time management skills;
  • Practical thinker, mechanically minded and good problem solver.

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Complete training as required;
  • Shadow applicable Engineers, in order to gain a fundamental understanding of the tooling and equipment used;
  • Work alongside the current engineering team assisting with design & manufacture requests for specialized tooling and equipment;
  • Generate fit-form-function based Concept and Detail Designs comprising of 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks;
  • Generate manufacturing data packs (incl. BOM’s, QCP’s and Works Instructions);
  • Oversee the Manufacture of tooling and equipment from inception through to delivery; ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. This will include, but will not be limited to: quotation, project execution, procurement, logistics, resource planning, scheduling, reporting, databook generation, oversight, supplier/vendor management, quality control and project closeout;
  • Compile manuals, reports and procedures as required;
  • Assist Engineers with Admin tasks;
  • Assist Engineers with R&D testing on Equipment;
  • Report effectively to Management and Customers;
  • Always ensure a safe working environment.
