Job Requirements:
- SAIW – ISO 3834-2 qualifications.
- ISO 9001 :2015 Quality Control Certificate.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the Quality Control team. Do Performance evaluation and make sure that the team is meeting deadlines on a timely manner.
- Implementation and maintenance of ISO 3834-2 accreditation and ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System, including:
- Acting as a welding coordinator in accordance with ISO 3834-2
- Acting as an Occupational Health and Safety representative on site
- Writing of welding procedures (WPS, WPQR & WQTC) and record-keeping in accordance with EN, ASME & AD 2000-Merkblatt rules.
- Inspecting welded joints and conducting tests to ensure welds meet company standards, national code requirements, and customer job specifications.
- Conducting certification tests for qualification of personnel with national code requirements
- Inspection of all valve components from foundry phase, machining, testing and final dispatch
- Performing internal audits and writing associated reports
- Planning calibration of measuring equipment and machinery
- Managing and taking responsibility for NCR process
- Perform randomized first-off and in-process spot inspection checks in all areas of production.
- Performing final inspection checks (dimensional, visual, etc.)
- Identify and investigate quality problems.
- Keep records of weld repairs and investigate the root causes of all quality issues.
- Communicate all design issues, that are found during inspection, with Production and Engineering team so that they can be resolved.
- Ensure that failed components are quarantined, repaired, and re-inspected before being released for dispatch.
- Conduct hydraulic/pneumatic testing where and as necessary according to procedures, and/or customer specifications
- Supervise packing of parts before dispatch
- Ensuring all quality control paperwork is filled in and filed correctly.
- Assist with completing Quality Conformance Certificate paperwork for local and export customers.
- Assisting with the design of new products, current design improvements, welding and proof testing jigs, factory machinery and other customer design requests.
- Assisting with design calculation reports according to international design standards (EN, ASME, RID/ADR, SANS) for approval by third-party verification bodies.
- Converting basic design information into working drawings in both (3D modelling & 2D draughting).
- Providing technical input into projects and ensuring that deliverables satisfy engineering quality standards.
- Collaborating with boilermakers, machinists, and welders to ensure manufacturability of the final product, as well as problem-solving current manufacturing issues and providing solutions.
