Job Requirements:

  • Qualified electrician and any N qualifications
  • Experience 5 year electrical
  • Mechanical background will be at an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Syspro will be an advantage.
  • A legal driving licences.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing,
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • A sense of urgency with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Hard working, resourceful and must be able to communicate via phone and e-mail.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete and maintain reports, registers, and check lists of wiring.
  • Ensure that all records and compliance certificates, are completed and submitted to minisub department.
  • Liaise with all departments (via e-mail, phone, and face to face), to ensure good and to reduce rework and down time.
  • Prioritize tasks based on urgency and availability of parts.
  • Add following labels:
  • Add all label information as per drawing
  • Work sticker
  • Danger signs
  • Other labels relevant to job
  • Put cable boxes on HV and LV, adding the gland plates to the cable boxes.
  • Mount cable box on transformer.
  • After labelling is done, wiring of transformer is done.
  • Able to read drawings and prepare wiring for when transformer arrives in QC.
  • Bore holes in terminal box and mount terminal box onto transformer.
  • Put cables to connect thermometer, Buchholz, MOG, WTI, OTI, PVR, CT’s and NER to transformer – wiring will be different for large and small workshop.
  • Use tick sheet to confirm all items are on the transformer as per specifications.
  • Make additions and/or amendments to drawings as per specifications.
  • Request print out of wiring drawing (printed and laminated) and attach to transformer for customer’s demand.
