Job Requirements:
- Matric or 5 years of all-round transformer assembly experience
- Experience in repairs will be advantageous.
- Crane licence shall be advantage.
- OLTC experience will be beneficial.
- Must be able to communicate via phone and e-mail.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- The ability to work under pressure when numbers of orders come in at a time and be able to prioritise.
- A keen sense of urgency and a willingness to learn additional job-related skills.
- Factory based.
- Required to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to transfer resources to areas where the need is required for a temporary duration.
Job Responsibilities:
- Setup and preparation of cores and coils prior to fitment
- Check of insulation, cores, and coils for the purpose of assembly
- Stack of top yokes.
- Replace of core insulation.
- Be able to read a tape measure and vernier.
- Be able to prepare LV bus bars for leads.
- Be able to braze.
- Be able to fit tap switches and do connections.
- Complete of QC and QCP documents relevant to the stage of assembly.
- Plan all work in the section and organising all material required.
- Read and interpret technical instructions and implement instructions.
- Communicate with stores and follow up on late deliveries and report to Manager.
- Quality checks from start to finish.
- Ensure that all records and compliance certificates, are completed and submitted.
- Liaise with all departments via e-mail, phone, and face to face, to ensure Transformers are completed on time.
- Prioritize tasks based on urgency and availability of parts.
- Ensure good housekeeping and maintain 5S standards.
