We currently have a vacancy for a goal orientated and driven Buyer at our Durban office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day procurement functions in the Ship Repair Department.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Receiving and actioning of requisitions
• Creating and expediting orders on preferred suppliers
• Sourcing of products according to user requirement specifications
• Maintenance of preferred supplier database
• Resolving any invoicing, quantity, or price issues from suppliers
• Sourcing alternative and potentially more competitive pricing for requisitioned services and products
• Sourcing alternative suppliers to ensure high quality products and competitive pricing structures
• General administrative duties
REQUIREMENTS:
• Procurement experience in a ship repair / marine environment
• Diploma in Supply Chain Management
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Ability to work independently.
• Experience with an ERP-system.
