Job responsibilities:

Main Purpose

  • Controls the receipting, storage, and movement of stock items applying specific procedures to enable identification with replenishing/ order requirements, controlling stock movement, attending to the recording, and reporting of stock levels and adjustments, and providing guidance and support to personnel in respect of specific stock and store-keeping applications.

 

Duties

  • Executes specific applications associated with controlling the receiving, inspection, storage, and issue of stock items, by
  • Check the supplier documentation against physical items and verify quantity and specifications prior to acknowledging receipt or recording short delivery/ damages on the documentation.
  • Quality inspections of material against the specification checklist.
  • Attend to the rotation of stock based on ‘first in –first out principles and positioning items taking into consideration “shelf-life span”.
  • Monitor stock levels against established safety stock levels, identifying slow-moving/ aged items and seeking approval on changes to stock control guidelines.
  • Conduct stock count sequences, applying control procedures indicating counted stock and quantities.
  • Performs specific administrative tasks/ activities associated with the functionality, by
  • Prepare stock schedules detailing the quantity of stock on hand detailing reasons for specific variances and the need for stock adjustment and forwarding for perusal, processing, and approval.
  • Inspect the quality of material against the specification checklist and filing documentation.
  • Update stock registers and control sheets, reflecting opening balances, movement, and stock on hand.
