MAIN PURPOSE

The main purpose of this position is to control and order inventory for our division Cape Town. Ensure that efficient delivery of imports and export in line with Customer and receiver of revenue regulations. Controlling and ordering of Generator Assembly and related Components.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Order, Manage and Maintain Inventory levels relevant to project and stock build equipment.
  • Order, Manage and maintain Production Assembly Component levels for Generators.
  • Be actively involved in supplier and sub-contractor identification, setting up of supplier agreements, assisting with supplier development, pricing negotiations and discount structures.
  • Place company required Purchase Orders on Suppliers (Locally and Globally).
  • Manage and improve re-order reports and processes
  • Monitor supplier quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications, equipment required and expectations of the company.
  • Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.
  • Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
  • Controls spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
  • Track orders with all suppliers and Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
  • Manage all Supply Chain Transfers, send, and receiving by ensuring they are completed effectively in SYSPRO.
  • Process Internal Supply Chain Transfers.
  • Conduct movement analysis to ensure products are located effectively, accurately for all warehouses.
  • Manage Slow Moving Inventory (SMI).
  • Make necessary corrections when incorrect items are sent to/from branches.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy overall and between SYSPRO.
  • Manage Strategic placed stock
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis on stock adjustments outside of stock take and implement corrective measures.
  • Receipt purchase orders.
  • Be available after hours for emergency order placement or arranging with supplier go-ahead
  • Manage and Maintain Open Purchase Orders
  • Ensure documentation is kept and records the transaction taken place.
  • Provide internal or external customer support on any inventory-related subject.
  • Assist with Inventory Auditing, Stock Take, and Inventory Management.
  • Assist in all areas within the Production, Inventory, and Distribution Department.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Matric/Grade 12
  • At least 1-3 years’ work experience and relevant experience in a related function (imports, exports, inventory control and planning).
  • Computer literacy – general computer knowledge and experience; MS-Office,
  • Must have working experience on SYSPRO

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Predominantly in the office.
  • Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays should the need arise.
