Job Requirements:

• Qualified Diesel Fitter / Diesel Mechanic with extensive experience on high & medium speed as well as two stroke engines and generators pumps, filters, radiators & coolers
• Clear criminal record
• Preferably have own tools
• At least 5 years experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of the marine industry would be a distinctive advantage.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervision and guidance of technicians & service engineers to perform service & repairs in the workshop & on^–site according to manufacturer’s specifications
• Plan, organize, direct and perform maintenance, repair and overhaul on high & medium speed as well as two stroke engines and generators, pumps, filters, radiators & coolers
• Ensure the highest standard of housekeeping in the workshop and tool store
• Define customer needs and requirements
• Ensure that company vehicles are in a good state of repair and well maintained at all times
• Management of service staff timesheets to ensure accuracy and liaison with technical sales administrators regarding job cards
• Responsible for ensuring that all inspection registers are up to date at all times
• Demonstrate good diagnostic & trouble shooting abilities. Work with service staff to solve problems, meet deadlines and deliver customer service excellence
• Drive and display the highest health & safety standards in the workplace and on site
• Identify opportunities for improvement in the workplace including training and development of staff together with Human Resources
