Storeman

Job requirements:

• Matric or equivalent
• 2 to 5 years’ experience as a storeman
• SYSPRO system or similar programs
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to lift and carry products

Job responsibilities:

The main purpose of this position is to perform all functions within the stores by following all stores procedures. Stores functions relates to everything that involves the controls of materials receiving storage, handling, identification, marking, packaging, stock levels, document control, returns, dispatch, and cleaning

Duties and Responsibilities

• Controls of receiving by checking of all supplier documentation against the company official matching PO by reviewing the supplier product description and quantity delivered.
• Checking of all supplier documentation for free issues, identify the project name and inform production.
• Process returns of any oversupply or materials not required.
• Physical check of the items delivered to identify any materials damages. Mark the materials with the correct internal stock codes.
• Controls of materials storing by checking warehouse or specific dedicated areas for the relevant materials.
• Shelving the materials per product class and in an organized way.
• Controls of consumables by checking low levels and request the procurement of shortages to stores supervisor.
• Replenishment of the various kanban’s at production workshops.
• Controls of despatch from stores by using the relevant material request issuing documents. Picking of materials by using stores operation despatch list.
• Review and complete the related issuing documents, re-check the materials with the person collecting and get all required signatures.
• Controls of all documentation by filling it and taking it to stores administrator or supervisor. Maintain all stations in a good cleaning order.
• Provide any assistance to any other stores operator.

Special Requirements

• A legal driving licences.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• A sense of urgency with a strong customer service orientation.
• Hard working, resourceful, ambitious with excellent business acumen.

Working Conditions

• Office and workshop areas.
• Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays should the need arise.
• Required to attend and participate in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession
