PCP Supervisor (Panel Control Programmer)

Main Purpose
The main purpose of this position is to plan and control engineering and production activities relevant to mechanical and electrical assembly for  Epping and JHB, as well as running the
day-to-day functions for the controlling and tracking process.

Duties and responsibilities
◼ Assist sales with estimate lead times when preparing proposals as well as accurate stock unit records on hand or in progress based on factory loading/capacity
◼ Plan and programme the projects in Syspro/SAP based on customers’ or stock  requirements
◼ Create stock codes and maintain existing data base based on engineering requirements
◼ Transfer engineering BOMs (bill of material) to the project structure and confirm tasks in Syspro/SAP
◼ Update and fix existing BOMs based on engineering requirements
◼ Create production orders and scheduling of jobs in Syspro/SAP
◼ Issue engineering drawings to the floor as well as retrieve and issue revised drawings
◼ Follow up production tasks and materials physically and in Syspro/SAP
◼ Follow up on backlog purchase orders to ensure no delays
◼ Issue material on Syspro/SAP that has not been issued by Stores or IP&C
◼ Create and update routings, define parameters for internally produced materials and update production times in the projects and in Syspro/SAP. Confirm Process Engineering tasks.
◼ Daily co-ordination and checking of the factory’s progress, delay indicators to be emailed and communicated to prescribed management and supervisors with recommended solutions
◼ Update any material changes on all jobs and report errors to engineering, projects and production department
◼ Update Syspro/SAP with completed job cards daily to unsure up to date progress tracking
◼ Production improvement, chrono analysis and time studies
◼ Review of WIP and job closure on Syspro/SAP and checking costing and allocation
◼ Reporting and KPI’s for the factory and PCP department
◼ Assist with stock take

QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE
◼ Matric
◼ Excellent Syspro/SAP knowledge (Planning and PO processing)
◼ Industrial/mechanical Engineering
◼ 5 years’ experience in the PCP (Panel Control Program) environment
