Workshop Winding Supervisor – Day & Night

Job requirements:

  • Matric or 10 years supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel and outlook will be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Syspro will be advantageous.
  • Training Received from WTD will be an advantage.
  • Senior Winding Position title will be an Advantage.

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage the dispatch list of the department, including job card completion and return.
  • Read and interpret technical instructions and specifications.
  • Attend daily and any other production related meeting.
  • Check the parts as indicated on the drawings against the trail kit and bill of material and be able to identify shortages.
  • Complete and maintain departmental reports.
  • Use appropriate methods and interpersonal styles to develop, motivate and guide your team.
  • Responsible to check and book overtime and leave for your department.
  • Ensure that all travel cards and QC documents (specific to your department), are completed and submitted.
  • Book materials form stores via e-requisitions.
  • Ensure active parts are stripped upon receipt of repairs order.
  • Responsible to prepare the cores.
  • Oversee the winding and pressing of coils; stacking of cores and the assembly of active parts.
  • Check and ensure that active parts are tightened before tanking.
  • Liaise with other departments (via e-mail, phone and face to face), to ensure good production flow in your department.
  • See to the drying of the units and ensure that active parts are loaded and removed from the oven.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and maintain 5S standards.
  • Have Knowledge of Disk spiral Helix Continues disk Winding of CTC ETC, and be able to wind from 1 MVA up to 45 MVA

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • The ability to work under pressure when numbers of orders come in at a time and be able to prioritise.
  • A keen sense of urgency and a willingness to learn additional job-related skills. Ability to transfer resources to areas where the need is required for a temporary duration

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Mainly office based
  • Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.
  • Required to attend and participate in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession
