Hydraulic Technician

Job requirements:

• Certificate in hydraulics and pneumatics
• 8 – 10 years hydraulics experience.
• Grade 12.
• Tertiary qualification – ND in Engineering

Trade theory – certificate

• Trade Tested Fitter & Turner/Fitter with machining /Mechanical Fitter
• Basic computer literacy
• Hydraulic systems – working knowledge

Job responsibilities:

• Hydraulic workshop
• LARS and Crawler hydraulics
• Risk assessment and risk mitigation during planning on job sites
• Provide assistance with tool deployment and recovery as and when required.
• Maintain all welding equipment in a safe manor.
• Fabricate and repair components of the plant, crawler and ship as required.
• Maintain good housekeeping on all relevant work sites during and after preforming repairs.
• Ensuring the area is safe after repairs which includes monitoring the cool down period.
• Hydraulic maintenance
• Hydraulic fault finding.
• Knowledge of all the equipment and basic maintenance associated with the crawler.
• Basic machining with lathe and milling machines (preferable)
• Read and write English
• Read a hydraulic schematic drawing.
• Basic welding and cutting. (Preferable)
